Last month, the FEV Tutor team traveled to New York to attend the Center for Educational Innovation Summer Leadership Conference hosted in the historic suburb of Tarrytown. We had the opportunity to meet with over 500 principals, assistant principals, and administrators. In addition to our lively booth, conference attendees could experience innovative speaker sessions covering a variety of exciting topics. Conference attendees also joined us at our sponsored happy hour where we had the opportunity to meet and network with some of the best educational leaders.
To encourage our students to take an active role in their learning process and to help make learning fun, FEV Tutor introduced “My Journey” to our Online Tutoring portal this fall. Students are rewarded with points for positive behaviors, such as taking ownership of their learning, mastering new concepts, participation, and more. As students accumulate points, they earn Micro-Badges that unlock new levels on their game-board to compete with their classmates and earn privileges to customize their avatar and tutoring experience. In this post, we will examine how FEV's My Journey helps students to become self-advocates.
As a part of FEV Tutor's Rewards program we are excited to announce our next contest! We are awarding partners for their opinions on FEV's recent updates to the Online Tutoring Portal.
As an FEV Tutor user, you may have noticed that we've made some exciting updates to our tutoring platform. We've added a new gamification feature to enhance your students experience learning. Now that we've rolled out the "My Journey" experience, we want to hear what you and your students thing about the changes.
Did you know that FEV Tutor recently updated its platform to have gamification features? The My Journey update encourages students to take an active role in their learning process. On the game board, students will begin on Level 1, where they can design their very own avatar. Over time, students can level up by earning points in each of the four “My Journey” categories: Participate, Drive, Achieve, and Collaborate. Each category supports students to engage in behaviors that will help drive achievement gains and meeting their academic goals.
Did you know that FEV Tutor has an ongoing Rewards Program? We understand how valuable classroom time is and we hold ourselves accountable for making the most of students' time. To help everyone stay on track and recognize students and teachers for putting in the time necessary to make an impact on student achievement, we've created our own Rewards Program.
Attention Partners: FEV Tutor wants to reward your teachers and students for participating in FEV Tutor's Online Tutoring program!
With the end of the school year fast approaching, we wanted to take a moment to remind our partners of FEV's Rewards Program to make sure that schools can "cash-in" before time runs out.
Congrats! If you are reading this you have likely made the decision to offer FEV's live, 1-to-1 virtual tutoring (or you are at least exploring what online tutoring would look like) at your school or district. Welcome to the FEV Tutor family! We are honored to have the opportunity to work with your students to help them progress on their academic journey.
This post is meant to provide some guidance from our Education Team for best practices on how to get the most out of our online tutoring programs. Follow these steps to help maximize the impact of your live, 1-to-1 tutoring initiative.
Emler, the Director of Innovation at a regional education service agency in Wisconsin servicing 31 districts in the region, created On the Vendor Floor after attending ISTE 2015 and being overwhelmed by the sheer number of vendors in the Exhibit hall. According to Emler, "There were so many people, and I had a hard time engaging in meaningful conversations in that space." She went on to produce On the Vendor Floor as a way to connect entrepreneurs with educators across the country to enhance learning. And since educators can listen on their own time, it provides them the opportunity to sit-in on more meaningful conversations about innovative EdTech companies, products, and solutions available to support their learners.
