Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) has become somewhat of a buzzword in education today, but it can be hard to know what exactly the term means. According to CASEL, "Social and emotional learning is the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions." In schools, this "whole-child" approach to teaching and learning is meant to empower students in the classroom and further on into adulthood.
With the current health concerns across the nation, many schools/districts face needing to make a quick transition to support students academically in a virtual setting. We understand choosing a program to get your students up and running while immediately meeting their academic needs is a tough decision. While students may be at home for an extended period of time, FEV Tutor wants you to know that we are here to help. For the past ten years, we have been engaging families and students from their homes and in other non-traditional education settings on a national level.
The current unique health situation (COVID-19) has brought up the possibility of there being temporary school and district closures throughout the nation. We wanted to let you know that FEV Tutor is dedicated to assisting educators as a resource for your Academic Contingency plan should this happen to you. We know that the health and safety of your students are of the utmost importance, and we're here to help your students remain academically engaged, no matter the circumstance.
